Morning Clive I was going to post a similar post so I'll hiJack yours lol. When using a 3 or 6 metre wide spreader how do you not spread over the edge even lawn has curved edge
the premier lawn vids in here he spreads seed but looks to spread to the left only. Am I seeing it right ?
thanks Clive 😬
Luke
If your spreader spreads to one side, 3m to the left for example.
When starting off walking you need to be 3m to the right so it doesnt go over the edge 👍😉
I think you're referring to Robbie re Premier Lawns. He's using a Scotts SR2000 which has a slide flap you can lower on the RHS, as per video. It's also around £600 - good piece of kit, best spreader I'm aware of and use it oursleves.
Re £100, not sure you'll get much thats robust and accurate.
Would suggest this is the entry point for a good walk behind spreader that will last several seasons and is reasonably accurate.

Or a chest mounted one:

Most of the time it's fertiliser being spread, so not so much of an issue some going in beds. However you soon get used to the spread width and adjust inwards as needed.
If most of your lawns are small, say less than 400sqm, then this would be fine, and ok to use on larger lawns, just will take longer.

We have a couple of old Scotts EdgeGaurds that have an instantly selectable side guard, however we've not been able to source replacements so have one of these as a backup;

Good compromise of cost Vs quality
Having a good mental picture of how you plan to deal with irregular shaped lawns is a must before you start.
This is a useful post as I am considering buying one too for occasional use.
