Wages for employed staff

Hi All

Looking for some information as to what everyone is paying staff for skilled hard landscapers these days? I am looking to recruit a skilled landscaper on a full time employed basis (to include pension, paid annual leave etc).

With lack of industry standard qualifications it is based mainly on experience and ability which is difficult to assess at recuitment stage.

  • Daniel, unsure if this is of help. We stopped direct employment some years ago. Too much aggravation and being let down " got a cold can"t come in " still wanted sick pay etc. Only use self employed now and we are mainly on the soft and tree work side, for self employed we have to pay £15 to £20 hour for relatively low skilled work to get anyone worth having. So £105 to £140 for a 7hr day = £525 to £700 on a 5 day week. Which is roughly £25 to £36 k a year. Hope that helps?
