VOSA Launch LGV 'Drive Standards' Guide

The Vehicle and Operator Services (VOSA) launched a new Best Practice guide for Light Good Vehicles (LGVs) late last year.

They have collaborated with various government and trade agencies to help improve the standard of vehicles on the road thus creating a safer environment.

The guide includes advice about legal responsibilities, road-worthiness etc. It includes driver check lists such as van records, van conditions, ID & licensing requirements, fixed penalty information and provides a detailed van 'walk around' diagram to give to drivers/users.

    Quite confusing that they have decided to use LGV for Light Goods Vehicles as it has also replaced HGV to refer to Large Goods Vehicles.

    Since I posted this article back in 2014, VOSA has 'changed' its name to DVSA and as such many of tyhe old documents have been scrapped or reworked. The best place to find information is here on DVSA's website (part of .gov)
