vehicle / mower ramps

Decided the other day that I would replace my wooden (and rather long and bulky ramps) with new lightweight versions. For the smaller machines I was particularly looking at the folding ramps.Came across this web site http://www.theramppeople.co.uk/Must say I was very impressed with the whole process and was pleasantly surprised that they phoned back within minutes of the order being processed to confirm next day delivery etc.I would wholly recommend them for price, service and quality.

  • I use a lump of ply with a reinforcing bit of ply screwed to the under side, takes My Honda 536 up into the van no worries & has done for the last 2 years, when the mowers in I flip it over and it lies flat on the floor allowing me to stack other things on top if I want...cost me nothing apart from a few screws and about 15 mins.
  • Which is just fine as your Honda only weighs 36.2kg
  • Nice handy work Paul.

The max. weight I would need to load up is close to 500KG and feel that a decent set of ramps would be the best bet and a very small price to pay.

I still remember the day my old ride on fell to the ground when the ramp slipped. Don't want any more costly repair bills.

I know the ply works fine as I have used wooden planks before but you have around £4K of kit and 225KG to load up wouldn't it be a worthwhile investment? The small foldable ramps are very compact and light weight plus can be used for rear or side door
  • I use two decking planks cost me £4 and takes the weight of 3 22" lawnflights going up and down all day.

I don't use ramps / planks for the hand mowers. 2 guys each side and up and out. Mind you if out by ourself after a few lawns they get heavy! Just have to be careful you don't bounce them on the rear roller.
