Van - Service required?

Hi Guys

A quick question:

I serviced my van last year and all kinds of things got fixed and I walked away with a £600 plus bill.

The van is running beautifully and I have done just under 5,000 miles since last service.

Do you think I can get away without having a service this year? Maybe just an oil change and maybe filter change? The van did sit most days parked up from November until March. 

I am just being tight, but dont want to waste money where its not needed. The service light has come on but i think its because a year has passed since last service.

Its a VW Caddy, Diesel. About 8 years old now. Mot is due mid April. 

So what is your verdict?
