Hi Scott, might be a little too far but I bought a van from Highfield vans wetherby north Yorkshire a year ago
Passed mot last month and has had no problems whatsoever, I use a transit custom, it's a twin cab so I could get rid of the car,not huge in the loading compartment.
But fits 2 mowers and when I'm not mowing fits about 2/3 tonne sacks
I can highly recommend a main dealer if you want a new van. I have traded with Vertu Toyota [formerly Gordon Lamb Toyota] in Chesterfield since 2008. I have had nine new vehicles from them over that time and they are fantastic people to trade with, both with the buying process with very good trade in prices given each time and with good discounts on servicing.
I usually swap at two years old but what with the uncertainties of last year and spending £40k on an extension during 2020, I decided to keep the current Hilux a little longer. So for the first time in many years, I had to have a first MOT in November 2020. A hilux is a bit more involved to service than a car or van [more prop shafts/transfer case etc.]. The service and MOT cost me £235 inc.vat. Take into account the cost of the MOT, oils, filters and adblue etc. and that is very cheap even if you weren’t at a main Toyota dealership.
Name another main dealership where the dealer principle [the man in charge] sees that you are there and comes over to you and spends twenty or thirty minutes chatting about all manner of things including ride on mowers. That is normal with all the staff. I have often been in the garage stood under my own Hilux chatting with the mechanics. Again, what other main dealership would let you in the garage? My daughter has been given toast and soft drinks at lunchtime along with drawing materials to use.
It really does have a family feel and you are treated like one of the family.
The experience with them is how we would all want it to be in an ideal world. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
So if you want the best service possible, that’s where to go. You need to talk to Matt Smith. He is the business centre manager.
