It was a strange year last year. The Beast from the East, followed by lots of rain didn't get the year off well, but what did most damage was around 3 or 4 days of 30c+, which burnt the grass around here and it never recovered 100% - in spite of the 'experts' telling us there would be not problem!
Thanks, that's a good heads-up. Lots of customer's lawns looking poorly and full of moss following last year's stressful season...
My turf supplier has warned of shortage/reduced quality for this season due to last year’s weather. I’m in Yorkshire.
the last two weeks i have had the odd days in the vale of york turf growing area there is not mutch turf left that is redy for lifting
its got very wet fields are waiting to get worked and seeded the ones that have are under water i walked into one that was done last year and it was very poor it might make it by the end of the year if thay are lucky, top qualaty turf will be a premium this year
