  • This is it after being laid for 1 week,no pics of it after being laid,I've got a feeling it may have been some dodgy turf as if had a smell about it looking back now,do you think replacement or us there a a way round it?cheers

  • Firstly an almost stupid question but has it been watered? You can’t over water but can very easily not give it enough.

Secondly, if it smells like silage then it has ‘cooked’ whilst rolled up and may never come back.

    • Yes been watered,I think it has bitten the dust going off the smell it was giving off

      • maybe sprinkle some decent grass seed on top and keep watering save ripping it all up if client sees you are making an effort to remedy the situation you might get away with it

  •  its had it looks like its been flooded what is that to the left of the photo next to the drain ?

How much is there? If it hasnt taken and looks like that, I would be going back to the supplier quick.

Certainly as the client I would not be a happy bunny.

    It wants watering

it's nearly impossible to kill grass without weed kille

juat a guess but I think it wasn't watered enough then drenched when it went brown! Hence the muddy footprints

    Hi Ric,

If the turf was cooked you should have sent it back. Its got a shelf live of about 24hrs.

Putting grass seed down won't fix it.

If you laid cooked turf it's on you.

If the customer had response ability water its on them. We all know customers are rubbish at watering.

As a rule I personally will only lay turf between September and may. Especially with these hot dry summers over the past few years.
