Price varies of course, but the large and long established turf supplier I trade with is very good to it's trade customers. So I pay [without looking it up] about £1.75 inc. vat collection and £2.00 inc. vat delivered. I think they charge the public 50 pence a metre more than the figures above.
I did a turfing job over winter and the firm mentioned above could not supply me due to the fallout from the very dry summer, which had caused them tremendous problems. They were only supplying the big building firms due to very limited stock/supply, so I had to go elsewhere and paid £2.50 inc. vat [collection] and thought the end of the world had come.
So the trade price, for very good quality turf, should be in my experience [since 1986] between £1.75 and £2.50 inc.vat.
