Gorilla tub or similar ones last for years, the ones from Wickes, homebase etc are inferior quality, especially the handles. If the handles are the flat type they will split around the attachment point usually within a few weeks if used for anything heavy.
I have had several Gorilla tubs for years, the handles have never split, they only get retired because i manage to cut them with something, even then the cut does not tend to split as the others do!
I have one made by 'Plastic Forte' that I got from our local garden centre years back. It's bomb proof and has hauled bricks, gravel my hand tools and general clippings. It's so good I'm considering buying a spare as most trugs are abysmal.
Here's a place online I quickly googled that appears to have them

Ours look like Anthony's .. we get them from our local builders merchants.... given the builders use them for rubble .... they last pretty well for weeds :)
I bought some sturdy rubber buckets which collapse flat so take up no space in the van from Aldi . Designed as camping buckets for carrying water .
So far proving very tough and reliable for weeding and mult purpose
Thanks for the tips and links, Much apprieciated.
Just seen this post & I had the same problem for ages. Then I bought 3x Ox trugs (the blue tool company) 3 years ago. I have been using the first of these three since I bought them, the handle snapped this week. If anybody needs trugs, get these. Mine came from FFX.
I've been using a 50 litre plastic pot with handles for a couple of years. Still ok
Quick update on this post. I got 2 Gorilla tubs on Anthony's advice and so far used them daily and still going strong.
Ours look like Anthony's too, we get them from the local builders merchant - that said about a year and the handles start cracking off
