Tree/shrub recommendation.

Evening guys, im sure its not just me that has work going round my mind on a saturday night!!

Anyway, Ive got a customer who is looking for a nice largish shrub which wont drop its leaves in the winter and looks like a tree - hah! Anything considered.

Any suggestions guys?

  • Agree with John, Portugal Laurel, Prunus Luisitanica 'Variegata' is a variegated variery much better for ornamental use and winter colour.

  • Photinia - red robin

  • Definitely red robin.
  • Another goody is Australian bottle brush. If you clip off the lower branches it will concentrate its efforts on a really good high spread. Ideal for topping fences for privacy and extremely low maintenance
  • It will also give the tree impression...
