Do you want to know and become qualified in advising on ‘Invasive and injurious weeds’?
Then you may want to consider the course that is running.....
Who and why?
The BASIS Certificate in Amenity Horticulture has been established for Field Sales and Technical Staff since 1978 with the government guidance stating -
‘No person shall sell, supply or otherwise market to the end user a pesticide approved for agricultural use (professional amenity included) unless he has obtained a certificate of competence recognised by Ministers, or he sells or supplies the pesticide under the direct supervision of a person who holds such a certificate’
The amenity industry includes hard surface areas, turf, amenity grass, and sports areas, large public and private gardens (e.g. National Trust type properties) parks, forestry, aquatic and other areas where spraying is carried out. This can be by in-house or contract labour, private forestry companies, local authorities, motorway and amateur gardens where contractors are employed using professional products. The control of invasive and injurious weeds are also an important area of the Amenity Pesticide use.
