    Theoretical fuel usage should be in the engine's handbook.

    I say "theoretical" as engine loading, blade type etc have a massive effect - ie it depends on what the 'engine' is installed in/on.

    Most mower makers wimp out on specifying, just quoting engine consumption.

    Previous experience suggests honda/kawcker engines are more economical than B&S..hence price premium...

  • Your right about the manufacturers quoting engine consumption, its not quite like buying a car eh Gary.

    Its a 6lt tank so I would assume I'd only fill the mower once for an acre

  • I run 3 different mowers Countax C800 (Honda) Countax 2050HE (Honda) Hayter Hydro 72 (B&S) they all consume approx 1.5 Litres per hour running at full throttle. Please bear in mind the 2 Countax are dragging rollers/collection boxes about. The Hayter is a triple cylinder with rollers, no collection. Hope this helps.
