just to say it wont be easy /straight forward.
after sending 3 emails, i had 1 returned.
i recieved 1 call to say someone will call me mon or tues ......
i called simply business back again to try & sort it out
, they gave me the 'investigators number,
they are looking as i write ! cant find my details as yet.
- ill need the receipt from 2 years ago . the guy has no info yet, probably another few calls , investigation (as they will try anything to get out of paying)
forms to post back & forth , then wait 30 days or so for a cheque, after paying £300 policy for 2 yr out of 5 , thousands , £100 excess £500 on plant !
tim on here has left / he was only a sales guy. no one knows justin !
ive had no reply on the juice - please note these people are only SALESMEN who want your money.
BASICALLY WHAT IM WARNING YOU IS TO '' WATCH /LOCK/HIDE ALL EQUIPMENT.
YOUR EXCESS IS £100 MIN OR £500 FOR PLANT.
YOU ARE BETTER OFF GETTING TRACKERS /LOCKS/CHAINS/A SAFE PLACE TO HIDE YOUR KIT. POLICE DO NOTHING.
INSURANCE CO'S WANT YOUR MONEY SO LOOK AFTER YOURSELF . IT TAKES DAYS TO SORT A CLAIM OUT IF YOU ARE LUCKY & a headache.....

Ive just renewed my insurance with another company. Was with simply business for a few years but they doubled my premium. I have never made a claim, so dont understand why it doubled. They told me it was because of my green roof work !! My new insurance company didnt bat an eye when I told them as they cover all trades to work at heights to a max of 15 metres anyway, above that and it increases, but thats fair enough.
Pays to shop around IMHO.
I always thought it was a good idea to put the equivalent sum as the tool insurance would cost into an account and watch it grow. Hopefully you would never have to use it but would be there if anything got stolen.
good idea stuart,
good idea upto £1000 with excess, but over that amount and with public liability id disagree. trailers / diggers/ride-on's are a lot to replace,
best for these is a tracker/ data-tag and wheel clamps or extra hitch lock!
I HATE INSURANCE COMPANIES!!!!
BIGGEST THIEVES OUT THERE!!!!
really?

Well, seriously, i've had a few bad times involving vehicle insurance (like a lot of people), just seems they're more than happy to take your money but very reluctanct to help you when you need it!
but they are a 'nessasary evil' i suppose!
Good luck with it all, hope it gets sorted as quickly as possible!!
