Tool insurance

Hi guys my insurance policy is coming up on my tools, just wondered if you had any recommendations with any particular companies,I would be looking for cover in my secure garage as I dont tend to leave any tools on my vehicle.Any pointers much appreciated

    Hi Colin, I'm all-in with Simply Business, tools, public, employee. Never had to claim so don't know what they are like in that respect but cover and price was fine. I think a lot of the guys on here are with NFU and get good deals with them
  • Just checked and they said that as they are tools fow buisness they will not be insured with the house! butif  they r for DIY they would

  • In The end went with Simply Buisness who offered a fantastic deal on tools,public liability and employee liability, would recommend checking them out!

    • dont confuse 'tools' with 'machinary' overnight cover .

       

      anything with an engine is not covered !!   BEWARE.

       

      also jasper im unclear if my trailers and mini-digger is covered / and mini digger use ?

      • Thanks Gardens 4u, I would not have known this unless you posted ont his thread. I phoned up and sure enough there is a big diffrence (although not very clear) between tools & plant am now covered for everything. Although handheld items like disc cutters & hedgecutters & push mowers, are classed as tools, cement mixer,ride on etc are plant.
