Today I will be doing mainly............nothing!!

I look out at another snow flurry, that’s it ………nothing, I’m doing nothing today! I’ve had enough of it! I’ve had enough of getting in my van in the morning showing -1c and rising through the day to 1c and sliding back to -1c for the return home. Add the eye watering wind chill off the North Sea and a day in the open becomes a shivering, blurred ordeal, I'm wearing so many clothes I cant bend down......!

Has this been just the worst 12month period - ever? 6 weeks of rain in the spring, no summer to speak of and an early start to what seems to be a never ending winter!

No, that’s it, light the log burner, listen to the radio, read the papers, read a book, don’t care - I’m staying put …………………luckily it’s Saturday! OK, I'm just an old southern softie - don't care!

Be OK tomorrow – got a round of golf booked!

  • I've got to tear myself away from the fireside and check moletraps sometime today, think I might wait until the temperature reaches a balmy 1c!

  • I don't normally mind the cold but it's got to me the latter part of this week. Temperatures here are around freezing today, does sound a bit better for next week though.
It's been a very difficult 12 months for those with outdoor jobs - lets hope for lots of warm Spring sunshine soon

  • It's grim, isn't it... Having endured horrible wet days at work on the nursery the stock is now frozen- from one extreme to another, and I know exactly how you feel.

Maybe we'll have a great summer this year? I think Mother Nature owes it to us!

Hope a weekend of radio, reading and relaxation gives you the strength to tackle next week :)

  • Today I will be putting a new ply floor in my van and painting it with about 300 coats of floor paint (300 a slight over estimate). In between coats I will be in the office doing quotes and on LJN

  • Checked seedlings in greenhouse to be followed by pub then football match(live) then pub + rugby international on tv then might go home! Well it is a saturday :-)

  • Hang in there Guys, there looks to be a dramatic change to the weather as we go into March, from winter to Spring. We only have another week to go.
Can't wait from some warmth and to feel the Sun on my back listen to the birds sing and work without getting muddy or feeling cold, winter's nearly over.

  • Totally with Nicholas, minus the seedlings, gearing up for Le Crunch later on!

Snow's falling again, gloomy, been a bad year weatherwise, but could be worse, living in Yakutsk!

  • brr i hope it warms up soon ,we are on site on thursday and working outside all week, man its cold ,still makes a change from pissing down

  • I have been on my roof all day today removing a chimmney stack. Same again tomorrow as I have 2 more to do. Looked at the forecast for next week and the weather is set to get better every day. I think this last week was the final throes of winter, bring on the spring !!!
