We've had a few people inquiring about the best time to spray when bees are active.
If you've got questions about this then the handy leaflet 'Bee Safe Bee Careful' produced by the NFU, CPA & Beekeepers association may be of interest to you.

TOP LINE GUIDANCE FROM THE LEAFLET IS AS FOLLOWS
- Avoid spraying when bees are actively foraging. Spray in the evening or in the early morning when fewer bees are foraging. Bees usually do not forage in significant numbers at temperatures below 10C
- Take care to minimise drift to nearby flowering plants or hives and around the treated field. Check the wind speed is less than 5mph, that nozzles are close to the target as possible, and appropriate nozzles are being used and properly cleaned particularly with older equipment
- If using a triazole fungicide use only approved tank mixes
There's more guidance around how to contact beekeepers, keep them informed etc in the leaflet.
Click HERE or on the image to visit the website and see the leaflet in full.
Also remember some insecticides such a pyrethroids, carry a specific bee risk warning on the product label. Even with such products, when used as directed their should be no adverse impact on bee populations.
So the guidance is read the product label before starting a job to check any potential impact on bees, follow general stewardship principles as above & the usual codes of practice and bees should be happy.
