Dont lose sight of your KIT - ANYWHERE .... 30seconds - ITS GONE.

this is my 7th incident involving garages/ jeep break in/ van / trailer or theft of site in a town. in 10years.

Luckily a bit of detective work initially and knowing a few local addicts helped me locate it within 10 mins. found bungee/ then followed roller marks on grass round the flats across the road: and then the thief i followed whilst on 999 to police- within 3hrs thief & person harbouring stolen mower were 'Both' locked up. statements given , updates to me on phone to confirm also.

DIAL 999 ask for POLICE do not hesitate.

I spoke to the guy in his new 13 plate nissan who was called to come and 'buy' it... Bad timing MR !! (a 66? year old man on disability) !

gave him a piece of my mind i did - SAD , SHAMEFUL MAN..

ALSO - Don't buy any piece of Dodgy kit (however small) ,its really just not worth getting locked up for....

LOCK, SECURE, HIDE, COVER, INSURE, CAMERA'S, LIGHTS, GARAGE ALL YOUR KIT.

  • Good you got the scroats well done, glad you got your property back.

  • Good work Robin on getting it back and yes don't buy any second hand equipment unless the person selling can prove they own it.
I just wish I could get my gear back, the police have hinted they knew who turned us over but can't take any further action until they get more proof, however the gear has probably all been sold on for pennies in the pound! Don't think I will see £6K of my gear again.
  • Great advice, glad to hear you got it all back. :)

  • Tthanks Mr.Cox (Dave)

  • That's lucky you got it back, but still it's your time that's been wasted and you certainly don't need the stress of it either.
Glad you got it back though.
  • We had two long reach hedge cutters and a heavy duty d handled strimmer stolen last week, the thieves had scaled some tall electric gates to get to them on a secure site. They even used their own van to take them away but the witness that took the reg number didn't want to make a statement to the police so nothing could be done.
I don't even get angry about it anymore, iv'e given up !
We obviously live in a society where this kind of behavior is accepted otherwise something would be done about it. I'd love to see the politicians, civil servants and legal profession etc having to work their nuts off for a gardeners wage then watch as its stolen off them.

  • End of January.

I now have 24/7 CCTV. Funny thing was, the police saw the German Sheppard who now lives within striking distance of the vans and I was firmly advised to put up a "beware of the Guard Dog" sign and also that they are being monitored!!! Or I could be the one being in trouble!!

  • yup, if the politicians really thought burglary, theft, robbery and the rest were a problem, it would get dealt with - a lowlife broke into a friends garage, nicked his bike (and did half a dozen other garages in the same street on the same night). he got caught doing something else a while later and admitted a string of crimes (because he knew he would not get punished for them and they would be spent) he refused to name his accomplices as well. these vermin earn a lot more than we do for their efforts and with little risk
