My year started awful, with a lot of wet weather in the spring. Summer was exceptionally good, but look at the leaf growth trees put on this year. It's going to be a busy autumn, and keeping the tip happy!
indeed but the down side is the weeding - perfect weather for everything to grow! Must be 50% more time needed on bedding and borders this season compared to last - but the mulching has more than off set this - lawns I dreaded last year because I KNEW I would have bags and bags of wet grass to dispose of, are now a pleasure, zip round non stop mulching and leaving a great finish :)
Having endured the worst winter I could remember, which caused me severe scheduling problems well into the summer, I promised I would never moan about it being too hot or too dry! Have kept to my word, even during the very hot spell I just kept reminding myself (and the lads!) of what we had put up with from November - April! It has been a fantastic summer and long may it continue!
To be honest it's been a few years since we've had a truly bad season here in the South East. Even last year was nothing compared to what we've had to deal with in the past. At the risk of sounding like an old boy going on about the war, I remember mild winters when we had to cut grass year round, warm wet springs when we had to cut grass twice a week, cold dry winters followed by hot dry summers when nothing grew at all, and wet summers which are just a demoralizing slogg.
Not sure what part of the South East you live Cesare, but in my little corner of the South East it was the worst spell of prolonged cold weather since 1963.
