Between August 2011 and January 2012, the South West Landscape Centre (T&S Plants) sourced all of the plants for this venue.
In total this amounted to around 5,500 2-3 litre plants and 65 specimen trees. These plants were for the 77 houses on site, and all of the communal areas of this new development.
At the end of January, we thought our job was done as all plants had been supplied and planted.
However, in the last couple of weeks we have had 2 additional orders for this once in a lifetime project.
Two weeks ago, we had to supply a few "fillers" for some of the planted areas.
Last Thursday we did close early, to spend time with our customer who planted the Athletes Village, watching the Olympic torch on it's way through Dorchester High Street. The following day, our customer collected many more plants from us for Planters to go around the Main Reception to the venue.
Last Saturday we had a chat with our customer, who was planting up our plants at Osprey Quay. He said that he felt a bit daunted, planting with armed police walking around him on site. We told him not to worry, as they were just an extra precaution we had arranged to make sure that he watered our plants in properly!
T&S Plants is just Tina & Steve, and for us to win sole plants supply for this project is just amazing. So, hope for every small business in our industry.
Don't know about these GS4 lot, but the Piddletrenthide2 didn't do too bad.
