Have you ever wanted wanted to be part of the growing list of companies that would like to work with their local Borough Council or County Council.
Over the last few years these organisations have dramatically changed the way they work and to tender for contracts is a process based system rather than
simply showing you can do the role. If you are intending to go for
contracts with local authorities you would normally have to go through
a procurement process and mostly you would score higher marks if you
were to have been certifies with ISO standards. You will also need to
demonstrate your compliance with pesticide legislation and the
European physical agents directive concerning HAVS and WBV. A risk
assessment pack and method statement file will also need to be
submitted along with your environmental sustainability policy which
relates to ISO14001. The margins obtainable through landscaping with
this kind of organisation are currently high due to this industry
being short of contractors for landscape and civil engineering work.
A major part of this is that Councils now require companies to have
certain certification and/or policies in place such as Health and
Safety policies, Risk Assessments, Quality Management Systems and
Environmental Management Systems, The ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 are
recommended by a majority of councils as giving certain companies an
edge over their competitors when it comes to tendering for business.
This may seem a lot of effort and perhaps you feel that you do not
have the time or knowledge to implement these. As a Quality and Risk
Management consultant I could put these processes in place in your
company so that you could get on the supplier register and tender for
opportunities within the council.
If you wish to discuss this in further detail contact through email qrm-uk@virginmedia.com and see how this could add value to your company and show growth.
Kind Regards
