Hi Daniel,
I'm sure this makes sense to you, but who are you talking to?
yeah, puzzled me too.

I dont do stone but I do a discount for fellow members
I'm assuming that this question was meant for me. I've very recently received a friend request from Daniel and also beige sawn sandstone is one of our products.
To answer Daniels question we don't have any specific discount structure for LJN members but we do offer discounts to new trade customers when they place their first order. I will be shot down here but feel it is important to clarify company policy on discount.
We currently offer no trade discounts. We have been in a bit of a tricky position, because of the online world we live in a massive portion of our business comes directly from homeowners. This has meant that we were always motivated to keep prices as low as possible for everyone. We have always offered trade customers a free delivery (on orders over £500 within 20 mile radius) and we always tried to provide outstanding service as an incentive.
The feedback we have had from our trade clients is that the absence of a trade discount prevents them from making a margin on the stone. Our reply was always that our products are good value for money and we could not afford to discount. The trade clients response was that the cost of the products was not an issue, the issue was that they could not make a margin. I understand the position.
We therefore decided that as of January we will be offering 5% discount to trade clients. It may not sound much but its the maximum that the company can afford to give in current time.
How did you get hold of the beige sawn sandstone Daniel?
All suppliers.
London Stone yes, i have a sample in my hands and will be using it on my next job.
A designer i am working for must have been sent some.
All suppliers?
As LJN Members and a supplier, we do not offer LJN discounts.
Why, you may ask?
As we are "Trade Only", we only have one "Trade price" .
If the public wanted to buy from us, they could not, as we would not sell to them.
We direct the Public to local Landscapers and Designers, (our customers), who they can buy our plants through.
This helps our customers to win plant supply, and the planting work.
Laid some of London Stones Harvest Sawn Sandstone a week or two ago was very pleased with the product, as was the customer. Although it is difficult to get an idea of the overall finish from the samples. 5% good enough for me.
Thanks for the positive feedback Lee. We run a monthly photo competition, so if you have some shots its worth your while sending them in. Steve
Thanks Axeljk. The Green slate is coming from the quarries quite riven, so what happened to you is a possibility. I know a couple of stone importers who have given up importing green slate altogether due to poor quality. We have got a pretty reliable supply of the stuff although our suppliers are constantly pushing the prices up. In fact many of the Chinese stones are rapidly increasing in price, big changes are afoot over there.
