Striping irregular lawns

We have a number of irregular shaped lawns all grouped together as you can see in the photo below.  I originally cut them with flowing stripes by going up and down each kerb and treating it as one large lawn.  The client thinks it looks great (as do I) but it's a pain to do and I've already caught the blades a couple of times when going over the corners.  Any other suggestions for an impressive pattern?  I did various ones on each lawn this week to see how they looked, together they are all of a mish mash but I would value your opinions if you think one stands out above the others and would work for all?  The stripes aren't that clear in some photos so I've made up some names so you can get some idea.

If mower has bbc. Why not cut round the edges then do stripes knocking out blade drive at the ends?

Original plan A looks best. Perhaps experiment with a mown or strimmed headland to finish each section and don't go over the edges when striping.

  • Why stick to one pattern? The National Trust & RHS recommend varying the direction of the stripes regularly to avoid rutting etc., so I would mow a different pattern every time!
