  • Good on them. What they are doing makes perfect sense from a financial and operational point of view. We've considered it ourselves but it would mean moving our stone masonry operation to Yorkshire which would not really work for us

  • They will though have to incur more processing costs to get the block into a usable condition and they will also see a lot more wastage. The biggest benefit I can see is the savings in haulage. For every load of stone we bring down from Yorkshire it costs in the region of £600
