Good on them. What they are doing makes perfect sense from a financial and operational point of view. We've considered it ourselves but it would mean moving our stone masonry operation to Yorkshire which would not really work for us
They will though have to incur more processing costs to get the block into a usable condition and they will also see a lot more wastage. The biggest benefit I can see is the savings in haulage. For every load of stone we bring down from Yorkshire it costs in the region of £600
