Stihl Motomix fuel

I've always been sceptical about using this fuel as I just reckoned it a waste of money at 3x the price at the pumps.  Anyway, read you can leave it in machines for years with no problem and having some tools that just get used once a year at the most, thought I'd give it a go.   Drained the old fuel out of my MS260 chainsaw which hadn't been used for 12 months at least............... refilled with Motomix............. started on the 4th pull.  This would normally prove a nightmare with much swearing and Easystart.  Then did a similar thing with an old hs86t and an FS130r that are rarely used............ again, started really easily whereas invariably a problem with the little use they get   .   At £25 for 5L it might seem like robbery but I've been converted for using machines where fuel is left in them for long periods.

  • I have used Aspen for years in kit which doesn't get much regular use such as a couple of chainsaw's. I was using it in my Husqy strimmer for a while after the carb went on a Stihl one, run on 2 stroke. But the price of it in something which can be used for a few hours a week was making it unaffordable, so just 2stroke in that now & I will bite the bullet if it packs up.

I did find after using Aspen or Husqy's version, when I switched to MotoMix the engine was missing quite a bit, but that seems to of sorted itself out. I go for whatever dealership have at the time. Well worth the £ though for kit which doesn't get used regular.
