Stihl Kombi rotary head

Does anybody on here us the rotary head for the stihl kombi?Mine keeps pulling out the 2 pin clips (not sure how to describe them) that spin on top of the drive shaft in the engine unit and I lose them on the lawn on somewhere. I know the pins are cheap and easy to replace but it shouldn't happen and is hassle for me.Does this happen to any of youThanks

  • Yep. That's something that has happened to me many times to the point that i always carry spares. I also carry both types of  plastic end caps that fit on the end of the tool shaft.  The metal locator hoops are known as bows. To install the last lot i took the whole clamp off and put thread lock on them before inserting. Not had a problem since and that's been about a year now.   If you do loose one it's worry checking that it hasn't gone down inside the shaft. That will destroy it!😉

Happened to me many years ago. I never bother with them anymore, pulled them out with some pliers. I line the shafts up with my fingers.

I have had the come out but never due to one head or another sometimes they just fall out.

I have used the rotary head again today and was very careful when removing it from the kombi engine and both bows have vanished, nowhere to be seen. Where have they gone?

    • Probably down inside the shaft of the rotary head🤔

Yes your probably right, this is happening everytime I use it. Shouldn't be happening.

It must be pulling them out when I take it off
