I've got a couple of 130's and a 56 rc, the do what they say no bother at all.
You need a powerful one as you can't use the weaker ones (above 100?) with an extension.
The one draw back is the very high vibration levels which you will notice after using for a while. A very handy tool though especially with the extension.
Do a search from the front page (http://www.landscapejuicenetwork.com/) and you will find a lot more info about Stihl Kombi's etc on LJN to read.....
My hubby bought a second hand km100 r and he loves it. Starts first time every time. He's got the strimmer, hedge cutter, extension and the blower. They are easily interchangeable and take up a lot less space than individual units.
ive liked it when ive been using the km 100 and found that the vibration dampener on it as well as my gloves on i could hardly feel the vibrations. But i wasn't using it all day, yeh im thinking of buying for the less space advantage i know i can get a km 100 for £370 so really considering buying this model and the 130 R may be a little bit more power fuller but will i really see much difference?
Yes, we have 130's and the punch it gives is noticeable, but if you're only doing soft green strimming or light trimming etc then 100 versions may be ok....We use long reach, scrub cutter, pole saw with/without extension tube + strimmer.
I suppose the only drawback is if anything goes wrong with the engine you might be tool less for a while?
I used to have separate strimmer and long-reach hedge cutters. Both lasted about 4 seasons, which was pretty good going, but carrying around the long-reach all the time was a pain.
So, I bought the 130. Less than a year on it's hard to start at best, and sometimes impossible (to the point where I've been using my 5 year old hedgecutter and a ladder, as it's easier than getting the kombi running). The vibration is shocking. The plastic inserts are useless, so the tools twist around. I'm actually praying for it to break, and have asked Santa for proper dedicated tools next time. A shortcut too far for me.
