Hi

firstly i should say hello as a newbie...........

maybe someone else has had this problem and can shed some light

its a hedgetrimmer i use for domestic work and its started dying at high speed for cutting so cant use it right now.
starting ok
idles no prob
so far tried new fuel
new plug
air filter ok
reset carb
cleaned muffler / spark arrestor
lubricated cutting gear

any other ideas welcome before i have to dismantle the carb ?

    have you looked behind the air filter foam for conifer bits on the air intake?

    I've never had one blocked but is the fuel filter blocked..... there is also a fine mesh filter inside the carb which could be blocked...... if you're going to have a look at that though, you might as well dismantle the carb and give it a thorough clean out.

    ok ordered a car kit so will try cleaning it up and report back !!

    Just to update and thank for good advice.
    i stripped the carb and used the spray - saw a lump of blackish crud fly out fro somewhere which may have been the cause of it not working - anyway it is running good again.
