Stihl fs 94

I’m just about to buy a Stihl fs 70, got it for a good price, after having a bit of a read, I’m not convinced by it, so I’m planning on moving it on and getting an fs 94, which seem to be well proven, there seems to be a few models fs 94  r, fs 94 rce and fs 94 ce, ( I think ) I’m getting confused! What are the differences?

Cheers

only difference i think is 94 C-E has cowhorn - or bike handle bars and the 94 RC-E has loop handles

The R model is on the FS 91 which is a 4mix engine with a littlle more power -- some people dont get on with 4 mix -- some do.

    • ah sorry, missed this reply lol, thank you very much, the one i bought is loop handle, so makes sense what your saying, cheers

      • The loop handle is great..... you've made the right decision................. easier to manoevre round tight little spaces in a garden + fits in the van much more easily. Had mine for several years and hasn't let me down once.

        • great! i dont really need the cow horns, ive currently got a battery fsa85 which is brilliant for all my domestic work, but i have a few bigger jobs now, that require a bit more guts, so went for this.  and yeah i can see how obe with cow horns woukd be a pain to fit in the van, cheers

          • HI Andrew, I have stihl AP battery kit but not sure about the strimmer due to battery life. Whilst in a dealer's today, he says to use any of the fsa kit you have to have the battery plugged into a backpack? Which are all extra's!

I currently have a TWO year old fs56 which looks like the carb has gone (spitting oil residue everywhere) & will or more often will not start.

So looking like I will have to upgrade to something meatier & not sure that the fsa will be enough.

            Cheers Neil

  • well i still dont know the differences but I've ended up buying an fs94rc, anyone know where i can purchase a speed feed 400/450? cant seem to find any for sale, or an alternative if they dont do them any more, cheers

Speed Feed is an echo product. I bought mine from ebay and it came from the US

      • that explains why i can only find them in the us haha.

I'll order one through amazom us or ebay then, thanks

Look at the EFCO Load & Go heads (ones with green centre buttons) .....

          • Do you find the center spools wear out quickly? I have an Oregon equivalent on one of my strimmer, while it’s handy I find the centerspool gets twisted after 2-3 fills of cord and makes it nearly impossible to load
