hi not had any issues with my fsa135R (yet) and have used it for some pretty hardcore strimming, is the spool able to be turned freely by hand and the long rotating shaft inside well greased
I have just recently started using it its the original line and spool not done many hours with it uet something didnt sound right with it a couple minutes before hand sound it was comeing from the moter
Hi billybop it turns out its the moter that it done in needs replaced
shocking to hear that dougie, sounds like the brushless motor spat a magnet out and destroyed itself, am waiting for mine to break now, just strimmed 2 allotments down with it ...Gets through some batteries but totally up to the job, been using 2.7mm oregon star line in the stihl spool
It has put me off from buying a new one its not had any use at all lucky if its had 5 hours of use they said the ckst of the moter and labour is over half the price for a new one think i might go back to two stoke for the time being i was using the 3mm oregon i was aure if it was the line that broke the moter
Unlikely that using 3mm line would have over loaded the motor to the point of breaking it, if out of warranty might be worth emailing Stihl UK directly with serial number/date of manufacture asking if there was a dodgy batch of motors, I doubt they would want this to be your experience of the product
I might do that actually thanks hopefully they can sort it out i thought the stihl dealer woukd of contact stihl to see if it was in warranty or was a dodge batch
