Reasonably good. We use them. More down to how well you can run a straight line :-) as it's difficult to use a hard edge with these.
If you have a long run would recommend it, but for short/precise runs (especially in a domestic garden) the old edging iron is best (and recommend these ones ).
You have to think ahead as to which way you need to go as it is offset. Depth is adjustable, but once blade really wears it effects its "ability" and angle of use. Get a couple of Stihl or after market spares and you're off :-).
