Stihl BR200 backpack blower

Looking for a small engined light backpack blower and was thinking of picking up one of the Stihl BR200 backpack blowers, has anyone any experience on using one? I'm guessing it's a handheld engine with a larger fuel tank converted to be a backpack ? Cheers Harry

Hahahaha, just thought, this has nothing to do with some scum trying to pinch my other blower earlier...
  • i have a nice hitachi petrol backpack blower, hardly used...it stays in the shed as i only use the stihl cordless battery one now as it is much more convenient quieter and cheaper to run

I also use battery tools for most jobs, Pellenc/ Husqvarna, but I am in need of a small blower for the larger areas, even battery powered tools can wear on the arms after prolonged use, and I refuse to buy a large backpack blower due to my own noise restrictions I have set out for myself.

I've just looked on stihls website and it turns out the br500 is quieter than the br200.
That's good for thought anyway. Quieter and more powerful!!

Try a BR500 before you buy it ;)

            Is that good or bad!!!
Not buying one just looking out of interest!
Just a bit surprised the noise was less.
            Is the 500 a 4 mix?
            • PRO

Depends on your view and yes, it's a 4Mix.

It's not the engine, but the air nozzle they have throttled - it has a baffle system in the output tube which is vwhere the reduction in noise & power is.

I'd say if you look at value for money (ie output per £) the BR200 looks good value if you want a smaller backpack blower.

We looked the BR500, but went for the BR600 for each team.

I wouldn't waste my money on it. It's louder has more vibes and less air power (with the same size engine) than a bg86.
