Hello everyone, this is my first post but im going self employed and have lots of commerical work to take on from my previous job.

Mainly blocks of flats so would like to keep the noise down and im thinking about investing in the new Stihl Kombi System KMA 130R

Do you think this is suitable? As I feel it is where it is all heading, however I just hope its as powerful...

Any advice would be great as I hope to go shopping in the next few weeks...!

I’m away at the monent but will do a short write up of how we found the Stihl battery gear across various users once back.

I use the Honda stuff and it's great, get most of grounds done on a couple of batteries the 4ah ones and I think ego use the same batteries.

    • Ego make the Honda cordless range !

  • I've used the EGO cordless for two years now and I've had zero issues with any of it !! I'd never go back to two stroke !! can'y comment on the Stihl range but I'm very happy with my EGO kit !!

  • I enquired at my local dealer about moving over to Sthil battery power and was told 30mins per charge for a blower and 2-3hours for a hedge trimmer, so I'm staying with petrol for now.

A quick insight to our evaluation was that even with 3off AP300 batteries we were out of power by lunchtime using gear commercially :(

      So, I’d agree Colin...

      • Do you have any backpack batteries on test Gary?

        • PRO

Yes ..... and this is probably the only current solution but no one wanted to use it after their first attempt :(

          - too heavy

          - too sweaty on a hot day

          - didn’t like the fly lead (psychological, I suspect )

In 5-10 years time battery technology will have improved. Maybe ?
