We have lots of resources at our fingertips from all the group involved, but someone has to pull it all together and find additional funding to make up any short fall we WILL encounter.
We need a team leader for this role. Don't be shy, all of you go out everyday and make deals, talk to clients, suppliers and banks, you are well able to take on this task. We just NEED one of you to organise and keep track of funding and keep us abreast of where we are and find various sponsors. These could be pond pump people, light fittings or furniture.....
The 2010 info came in the post today These forms HAVE to be in by the 4th December 2009: plans, estimated cost of the garden, client brief, environmental responsibility along with details of sponsorship.
We also really, really need some brave soul to stand up to the plate and manage the construction, again as a team leader.
This will be a major task and one which I know that you will rise to. Which ever plan is adopted for this show, you will be in close contact with the design team and we will all work together to ensure that the build is as simple and trouble free as possible. But although the construction team will be working alongside the design team, you will have to be organised and be able to work together.
If all of you are still wanting to do this, we have to start getting thing really organised, just in case our plan is accepted.
We need to see the chosen design and a list of required materials before even thinking of approaching the bigger players.
The coordinator should be the only one to "assign potential sponsors” to LJN members to approach or at least ensure you don’t have five different people chasing Jewson’s as an example.
Have we agreed on having a charity associated with the show garden?
We need a list of suppliers etc. that we wouldn’t want to be associated with.
Whoever rises to this challenge must work very closely with the other project managers and most possibly be available to meet face to face with the potential sponsors.
Perhaps we should put names forward for those who would like this position and also the foot workers who are willing to assist?
On the assumption that this project is going to fly. This is now the most important challenge / position – there is no point trying to build a garden with no materials!
