Just had a similar one in last 1/2 hr from ‘Sage’ ( but no connection to the landscape show)...
I got the landscape limited email also. Deleted it, but it did look legit.
Also, while on subject, I do occasionally recieve unsolicited emails from suppliers on here. Is this allowed?

This is legitimate business Graham and what - partly - a network is all aout.
I get a huge amount of emails each day/week and I read everyone that doesn't initially look like irrelevent to me.
I got both the Landcsape show and the Sage one...I get something odd most days with people asking me to click on an attachment for a potential project - I just delete them (I usually ask for a phone number for the project ones and they never reply - I never open the attachments)....Survey Chimp who handled the GDPR for a lot of companies was hacked...oh the Irony!!
havent receieved either
Well I try to be careful with my email adresses these days, just to avoid things like this. People are joining the network to scrape emails to add to their email lists for marketing, and then being hacked, leading to my email being in the spam lists through no fault of my own.
Users emails may not be shown, but simply hovering over the email button shows the address as a mailto: in the browser. A contact form should be used really.
I have made my profile private now, well friends only.
Graham's talking about the email 'contact' address embedded in Pro members' page. See image below.
IMO it's an important feature. It's designed to enable LJN members to benefit should a potential client/partner/supplier contact them through this site.
I'm in business myself and it's important to me that I should be accessible at all times.
I deleted my post as I realised I was wrong as I tested under incorrect conditions, but Phil has clarified above.
Like Phil, it’s important my business is visible and contactable. Our details are available in a multitude of locations and it is, well.... , a modern day issue.
I doubt LJN visitors and members are responsible for the majority of Spam we receive.
There is a bigger question of what is Spam ? I think there is a huge difference in an email received regarding our industry / business but not relevant Vs Malicious / phishing etc Emails etc
Well you could class spam as any email that you didn't sign up to recieve. I certainly see it that way. Isn't this what the whole GDPR thing was about?
I don't recall clicking an 'opt in' button to recieve emails from suppliers on here, and now 'The Landscape Show' has collected my email address from here and stored it. The datatbase of emails they collected has now been hacked, and passed on to the spammers, which is why we now are reciving phishing emails.
The email addresses will now be packaged up and sent to other spammers for a small fee, and it just ruins an email address when it get bobarded with spam.
I don't mind people being able to contact me from here to my email address, but it's good practice to hide the users email address and use a contact form. Using the mailto: where it just opens your own email program is very bad practice, and in my honest opinion what has lead to people recieveing phishing emails. The trail leads back here.
I think you need to talk to the Landscape Show Graham. It's them that is in breach of GDPR if they've stored your email address without your consent.
It is a breach of LJNs T&Cs for members here to spam fellow members. If a supplier member has been unreasonable by repeatedly contacting anyone here then please email me at phil@landscapejuice.com.
