Evening Gents and Ladies, - long time not been here, - I apologise for those who havn't seen me before, - i've been busy setting up a new business selling cut flowers in the last year.- Fantastic fun, and getting really successful, but the hours.....

anyway I'm a huge fan of social media, and i've extolled its virtues many times on this forum.

For those of us who work on their own, it is an amazing way of connecting with others all over the country and all over the world. -

With very little money, and just a regular amount of time commitment ( about 10 minutes a day I reckon - and yes, those of you who use chat will probaly have spent more than that on here!) - you can be reaching large amounts of your customer base, and others who you can collaborate with.

You can also appear to be a lot larger and more successful than you really are.

That's if you know why you are on Social media - , AND If you do it right.(by that I mean so as to not annoy people, and to present your company image)

I'm currently working with Rona Wheeldon, - who blogs at @Flowerona . - We're holding a Social media workshop in Surrey, next Monday the 31st March.

it's aimed specifically at flowery people. - Garden designers, florists, Horticulturists, Flower growers and Gardeners.

The last workshop that we did in February sold out, so we're holding another, and have just 7 spaces left.

There is a HUGE group of garden lovers out there on all the social media networks. - Are you getting through to them?, and showing them all you can do?

What social media tools do you use? - could Twitter, Facebook or Instagram be where your clients and potential customers are? (statistics show that the majority of these users are over 35!, - i'e at House and garden owning stage)
Have you ever thought, - "What shall I say"
Have you ever wondered - "Should I be getting work from this?"
Have you ever looked at what you've said and thought "should I have said that?"

And if you currently have a Twitter and facebook account and they are linked, - PLEASE unlink them, - you are commiting a cardinal uncool sin, and will be turning people off your business before you've even started wooing them.
