I like those adjustable spring rakes for raking out leaves and debris in a bed. Very handy being able to change the width according to what you're try to do. I've found them pretty tough. never broken a wire... just bent them but you can bend them back. Can't remember the make... think its Draper but the labels worn off.
Yes I find those rakes useful and tend to use mine regularly compared to other rakes .
I bought two thinking they wouldn't last long but one is still unused after about Five years .
Neither rake has a brand label on it and were purchased from a budget traders .
Fully extended though they are no good for moving big piles of leaves tines are thin but great for most other tasks .
Is sneeboer connected to burgeon and ball ? Not sure but I find burgeon and ball tools excellent quality as with Bulldog but if you have tried Bulldog already and it's failed go with the sneeboer .
Also I find the husquana interconnecting system do various size rake and hoe attachments or you could also try wolfgarten .
Sneeboer are an independant Dutch firm, can't bring myself to pay £90 for a bent piece of stainless steel which is not forged in one piece but welded together. Carbon steel is far stronger than stainless also the shank that the handle fits into is very short as are a lot of their tools. Going to try the Draper 09985 border rake, put the wrong code number in original post. Its only £19 so can buy 4 plus change before we get to Sneeboer price. Looked at wolf as we do have some of their stuff but nothing suits. We are using for light soil cultivation primarily which the Bulldog is good at but puts a great strain on the spring tines , did have a Burgon & Ball border rake identical to the Bulldog but stainless steel which bent very quickly.
We have the Spear and Jackson never bend. Just got our second one. First one lasted 7 years. About £20 I think.
Spear and Jackson don't appear to do border rakes only full size?
My apologies Peter, you're right. It's actually a lawn rake that we just use in the borders now I think about it properly. No use to you then after all!!
