Simply Paving

Hi all,

First question on here, so hope to get some advice.

Has anybody used simply paving as i have compared there paving quote to that of my regular supplier and simply paving are alot cheaper.

I like to be loyal to my supplier as they bend over backwards to help me. But im thinking of the money id be saving.

Are simply paving reliable? Genunine Quality product?

Many Thanks

  • used them once where a client wanted a specific manufacturer that mine couldnt supply, and they were very good, however mine will always better the prices they give. id much rather use the local guy as a lot more flexible with deliveries and will sort out any problems. worth a £1 a m2 extra in my book!

  • Thanks,

Will speak to my supplier to see if they will match the price, hopfully will as i know i can rely on them to deliver on time and replace any brakages quickly, but the temptation of saving £250 when times are hard is a tough choice to make.

  • I suspect if you dangle the online price under your regular suppliers noses they should be able to do something.

It might not be quite as good because they might not have the same buying power but your instincts are right about looking after your local guys. There is a premium attached to having somebody who actually knows you and will bend over backwards to help when problems occur. Personally I think it's one worth paying.

Just a thought, I'm assuming you've taken transport/delivery costs into account within the online price?

  • Your probably right about sticking with the guys i trust, the online price is free delivery for the quantity i would require, but will speak to my supplier tomorrow see what they can do.

  • I am a strong believer in sourcing locally, IF possible.  The problem with sourcing from afar is that if something goes wrong, then its difficult for the supplier to rectify the problem.  Another issue with sourcing from afar is that, more often than not, the delivery will be made by the pallet lines on the tail lift trucks.  I'm sure everybodys got experience of these drivers.  They could not care less about your delivery getting to site in one piece and they are always looking for an excuse "not too drop"

Onto Simply paving, they are a reputable supplier and I have never heard any negative stuff about them.  Only slight issue with them is I think you have to buy full packs, which can be a problem.
