Sign written van

Hello all, this is my first year as a self employed gardener/landscaper. I have a question reference the business side of things, "is it worth getting my van sign written?" Can anyone give me a heads up on if it is worth it, in terms of new customers seeing your van?

Apart from the obvious, what type of stuff should I have on it?

Cheers for any info/help.

    • Cheers mate, thanks for the help
  • Get it done you'll look more professional and as above its a great advert
    • Cheers mate.
  • Some people say yes, some no!  If you're doing regular maintenance jobs and you've got all the work you can handle and more, is it worth advertising to thieves, whats in the van? If you're always after new work with one-off jobs, then definitely.

Make sure its a simple straightforward message, like a poster

Make sure the font is big enough to read

    • I love those designs above. Especially the damson House one. Cool!!!

      Below is mine.

I find it gives me work. I even had a couple of people following me to the local supermarket and stopping me in the car park to get my details and to get a firm booking in my diary.

Also it gives peace of mind to the neighbors where I work. They get used to seeing me. I get referrals from that as well.

I do not worry about thieves, as I am very choosy as to where I take on a job. I always try to park on the driveway at a site or a very well travelled road. No dark, hidden away side roads etc for me. My van does have a security system, but why put your main tool at risk in the first place? I may be different to the blokes out there anyway as I am a female working on my own so a lot more security focussed anyway.

      • Thank you everyone, I'll get it sorted on Monday.

        • Make sure you get a number of quotes. If someone can fit you in right away, beware! Make sure you double check and triple check the spelling before and after the job.
