  • I use an oil stone for small hand tools, secertairs, chisels etc. and a bench grinder for the larger things. Then for balancing the mower blades I use a screw driver as the spindle and file the heavy side of the bladeuntil it is balenced! takes a bit of practice but is cheeper than geting it done by your dealer.

I use a diamond file on secateurs (use water for lubrication) and a 4 1/2" angle grinder on the mower blades. Don't forget your eye protection! I use a screwdriver though the spindle as well to check the balance.

When buying new mower blades, you don't have to stick to the manufacturer's. There are 3rd party blades for Hayters that cut grass and have significantly better lift then Hayter standard blades!
  • Angle grinder each week for mower blades, Dremel type tool on a flexi shaft for hedge trimmers. No need to strip down. As far as I can judge the blades are as sharp as they can be.
