It's been such a different autumn this year, hasn't it?
The beginning and end of 2010 a the start of 2011 were exceptional. One has to feel there is some kind of sting in the tail coming.
it has for sure Phil
we had rain yesterday on and off all day and last Tuesday was like a monsoon for about an hour, Manchester actually suffered a mini typhoon
this week is the first time in nearly 8 weeks it has rained during the day where I have been working
the last 2 years have been very severe indeed compared to the previous 30 years winters, the only 3 bad winters I can think of in that same period are 1982 1986 and 1993 and all 3 put together were no where near as severe as the frost this time last year which carried on and on which resulted in the frost heave which caused so much damage of which I have never experienced at that level and I have worked outside all my working life
looking forward to February :)

According to Met Office possibility of some snow overnight Monday into Tuesday ( West Mids) - just a covering overnight then milder by Thursday. This time last year we had already had almost a month of bad weather - off and on. Let's just fingers crossed that it carries on being not too bad!
