If he has used it when its just been freshly cut or the lawn is stressed from drought or he has just overdoesed and over used the product yes any selective weed killer could cause damage or kill off the grass.
i think weedol is a total weed killer not selective
just checked they do a selective i forgot scots had bought the brand also verdon
did they use a reddy mixed or the concentrate it could have been put down to strong or in drought condishions as Dave says above
Thanks guys. I thought he had probably killed it and you have helped confirm my thoughts. He used a concentrate which was, apparently, mixed correctly. The grass was quite weak anyway and the ground is very dry at the moment.
Would overseeing just be a waste of time or worth a try?
I'd thoroughly soak the damaged areas first and keep watering regularly and see what happens............. grass is very resilient and hopefully might recover.
there should be advice on the label re seeding - normally its not advised 6-8 weeks either side of the weed control application. At the moment - plenty of water and a light non-scorch summer feed (if not already applied).
Definately wait for reseeding - it may recover but 6 weeks min. as already said and thorough drenching to flush through the active ingredients - weedol looks like 3 actives with variable degradation rates.Seaweed sprays, in between the drenchings, will stimulate microbial activity and help increase chemical degradation.

Thank you all for the helpful advice. As you probably all know too well, getting a customer to do proper irrigation can be a challenge:)
I will discuss it with him this week and see how we get on.
