I've been asked to quote for 32m of new 6' closeboard(!?!) fencing and have suggested wheelie bin storage too. From the picture you can see why!! We were there last week, but the local kids had been there 2 weeks before and set half the bins on fire!!! Can you spot them?! The hardened remnants crisped to the slabs and gravel!Just wanted to check if anyone has erected a large wheelie bin store of this scale before. It's to securely house 25 wheelie bins with hinged doors and lids. I'm in the process of spec'ing 3x2frame with close-boarded 100mm boards. Frame sitting on and bolted to concrete pad and fence to the the back. Do you reckon this is ferrel-children-of-the-night-proof?? Short of being solid titanium construction with laser security!

  • A site I help to look after in Luton has the same probolem, unfortunatly a 6ft fence will do nothing, we had to go to 10ft just to stop them getting over it, they have scince tryed to set the fence on fire, lukerly to no avail. On that estate they smash windows kick in the metal bins, set light to grit bins, wheele bins, the benches that gor put out for the smokers were either smashed up or set alight! Its like going to war on that site.
  • Problem is that the actual site is wide open at the front. It is just down one side to be re-fenced as currently the gaps are big enough for little childrens fingers to go through and be chewed by alsatians on other side!! Think the dogs are still friendlier than some the little humans!! Ideally it would be completely galvanised construction. I may well put dimensions into fabricators to see what sort of figure we're talking and submit that as a recommendation for them. No metal workers around are there??
