Ideally you'll want to do no weed control 2 months pre and 2 months post scarification/seeding. So doing weed control now would mean Scarify end october, so should be ok, but won't recover as much by Xmas if you scarify say mid sept. We don't tend to mix weed control with scarifications. If scarfying in Autumn then do weed control in springs before and after.
I'd weedkill first... once the weeds are dying off nicely, then scarify. If you scarify first, you may well not have any decent leafgrowth on the weeds for the selective to work.
I wouldn't bother with a weedkill now, it's getting late in the season. Scarify, moss control, and weed in May
They want it all doing over the next couple months once the kids are back in school and off the grass etc, so no real option to wait.
In that case weed treat now, scarify and iron in 4 weeks
