hi, went a few years ago, enjoyed it, the machines they have on the stands seemed to be mostly for display and for the punters to get a feel of them, I suppose at the end of the final day of the show some exhibitors might sell bits off, I went on the train
I went on the train about 3 years ago and it was a great experience , nothing much to buy but got handed lots of freebies .
Made some good contacts for wild flower turf ,sundries etc ,all the stands were brilliant ,willing to impart useful advice .
I had booked to go this year thinking it will be a great opportunity to explore latest battery technology and ask lots of questions but due to personal circumstances cannot spare the time unfortunately .
It's a great buzz to just go and connect ,have a drink and plenty of food outlets ,very handy for the train .
Hi Martin, very much as the others have said, it's an opportunity to poke and prod new bits of kit and talk to the salesfolk rather buying. Maybe try to convince them to book in a demo. Grab yourself a flapjack from the tudor environmental stand!
I'm going tomorrow to see what's new and pick stihs marketing peers about the shite performance of their battery sweeper.
Thanks for the info, going tomorrow, I'll keep an eye out for those flapjacks!
Have a great day ,Let us know how it went if you have the time .
Very sustaining those Tudor flapjacks .
Hi, I went along today, enjoyed it. Looked at plenty of tools/ machinery. Quite a bit of it I found was aimed at a higher level than my business( pitchcare etc) but it was still worth the trip. Never found the flapjacks. Given that I am mostly working outdoors alone I find it very tiring being indoors surrounded by people! I'm not sure it's something I would go to every year unless I had spare time, but certainly worth going to every few years to catch up on new equipment/ innovations. I have to say everyone I spoke to on the stands was very informative, polite and had time to spend talking over their products. All in all a useful day out and a break from the norm.
Pleased you enjoyed the event MJc , Thanks for the feedback 👍 .
Shame about the Tudor flapjacks they were one of the highlights for me lol
Perhaps they stopped doing them it was about Three years ago I went .
I find crowds overwhelming too , definitely connect it to working in isolation for so many years , makes a change to go to an event once in a while but have no desire to return to working in a city centre anytime soon .
Flapjacks were present on the Tudor stand and were very, very popular 😋
Show was busier than last year ( as expected ) but good up see some major brands re-appearing. Hopefully will continue to grow again.
Noticeable shift to online catalogs etc ( except Tudor - great 'bible' to go with a cuppa and a wet morning ) so less to collect and carry but does enable suppliers to capture genuine interest,
Had some useful chats regarding equipment we need for next year.
Almost all brands demo-ing battery or hybrid machines - so we’re seeing the Battle-of-the Batteries. Would love to some alignment or standardisation of batteries ( ok, i know i’m dreaming ) but for commercial users it can be hard to justify selecting best of brands with such costs, but easier for Domestic users?
Didn’t see anything ‘ground breaking’, but noticed the increasing presence multi functional/attachment front-end loaders on show - sized to fit inside of vans.
Guess the Winter dreaming now starts 😬
I went yesterday, Thursday, there were some very interesting things, the one that really caught my attention was the Rootwave Pro.
An extremely serious bit of kit, not just a tool but a business in itself, that requires additional investment in a generator, power barrow, a suitable van and so on.
