Does anybody have any thoughts about the average gardeners wage and the skills needed to perform the job?
Think you could be asking the wrong people on here Fran, 99% of us are self employed or run small ltd companies. We on here are more interested in business rates whether that be "per job or per hour". I think the reason most gardeners / landscapers are self employed is its the only way to make good money. Most employed gardeners are on about 7-9 £ an hour, our industry is not the easieast job in the world. I for one wouldnt do this type of work as an employee.
Back breaking work and seasonal !!.

Thanks Gary, yes you have a good point, I could do to target more employed people. As it stands with the responses I have collected, I can go some way to highlighting the difference in salary between employment and self employment, and I couldn't agree more with you in terms of it being back breaking seasonal work!
Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to fill it in.
