Personally, no client has asked for it, required it or requested a quote because of it so I saw no gain at all.
Hi Andrew,
First; It was pre-requisite for a Housing Association contract we have had since gaining SC accreditation. So, in that one instance, Yes.
Second; it gives us a 'position' when quoting for Commercial work. It's mention ensures our H&S / RAMS are taken seriously and thus allows us to proceed to the next level or to the short list.
Third; For all our commercial clients, we can simply submit our H&S stuff every year knowing its 100%
Fourth; A major Client also uses SC Consultancy arm to perform H&S Audits on their sites. So we 'sit' well there :-)
Fifth; From a business prospective, it 'sits' well for brochures, advertising, etc. It also ensures my Guys know we take H&S seriously and they understand their responsibilities. It helps new employees as SC ensure we are audited every year and thus our H&S Policy is 'current' and available for them as reference.
Lastly; If you are looking for a direct ROI, then it is unlike to stack up, but in the larger game, I am know that without it (and Exor EMS) we would not have the level of commercial work we do. It very much depends on the business environment in which you work....
I gained a large contract this year and i believe being SC accredited helped, but i can't prove that it got me the contract.
Other than that no gains.
Many thanks for the replies folks.
Its a hard call at the moment whether I do something or not, but it is looking more likely that I keep it on the back burner for now.
