residual weedkiller recommendation

Hi all,

Im looking for a residual weedkiller to apply to hard standing areas, shrub beds and margins etc.

Were currently using Clinic ace which works well on weeds so I would be looking for something which I can mix with this.

Im looking at chikara, but looks expensive, so what else is out there which is more cost effective but works?

P.S. I heard that turning the soil in a shub bed before spraying helps the residual take grip better - is this true?

    Do not put a residual in a shrub bed, it will damage the shrubs - and the turning soil - thats only to help percolation of the mix into the soil, but has no real effect.

    For residuals you have to pay, Id Stick to Chikara, or if your at the site often, just use Glyph (clinic ace in your case) to spot treat weeds each time you see them, this is far far cheaper in the long run.
