Hi All,
Has anybody got experience with how Redrow protect their DPC? Redrow follow Welsh building regs even if building in England - don't ask me it doesn't make any sense - and as such have to provide wheelchair access at the back of the house as well as the front.
The garden that I am working on has a level threshold at the back and a fall towards the house. Redrow's patio runs level with the patio door sill. There is a 50mm door drain in front of the door that isn't attached to anything and a 250mm gravel soakaway up to the level of the DPC between the house and the patio.
My understanding is that a level threshold can be installed if the house is designed and built with a DPC that is properly protected. There are a coule of ways to do it. I rang and asked Redrow to confirm that if the patio was put back in the same position the DPC would be protected to which I was told Redrow does not guarantee anything and it is down to the house owner. They do not release details of how their houses are constructed. - VERY USEFUL!!!
So, does anybody have any ideas how they do it if at all????
Thanks in advance
